Oklahoma Road Trip

Since my last post, I put a healthy 1,820 miles on my car and experienced 3 US states in the space of 7 days. 

I took some pictures too.

A Little About the Title

So perhaps I should begin my second post with a little about the title of this ongoing work, the result of a good ten minutes of brainstorming over a cup of tea.


The hope of combining a literary reference with a photography pun sounded like a good starting point to me. Rejected titles included Jude the Camera Obscura, A Tale of Two Exposures and even the cringeworthy The Camera in the Rye. Persevere though I did, I couldn't settle on a title I liked. That is, until my wife suggested a reference to the great H.G. Wells novel, The Invisible Man.

Hello World!

A little about me before I kick this thing off.

As an Englishman living abroad, I figured now would be a lovely time to start a photography, literature and general observations blog. Kind of like a diary, only a little less personal and most likely with a few more bad quips and puns.

I've already been a long-time member of Flickr (check out my photostream here) and have an appreciation of for the wonders of technology in general, especially how easy it makes it to simultaneously communicate with, and be distracted from, the great big wide world.

When not with my lovely wife, I spend the rest of my time dividing my attention between the computer, the smartphone, the television, the cinema and all the other parts of modern life; in short, I enjoy reading about things. And taking pictures of things. And looking at things. Hence the need for a photo-blog to put together all the disparate parts of modern day life.
